Egyptian Knot Bracelet

Sterling silver, with 24K gold plate. Inner circumference 6 1/2 in. Our Egyptian Knot Bracelet is adapted from an original crafted during the Middle Kingdom (about 2040-1640 B.C.) and now in the Museum's collection. Most common in the Middle Kingdom, bracelets of this type were based on the ancient belief that protective spells could be bound to the wearer through a knot. The knot motif was used in Egyptian jewelry for centuries.
